After breaking down a photo or drawing in Photoshop into the separate layers the images are printed out onto transparencies and exposed into a photo emulsion coated silkscreen. Using UV light the images are burned into the emulsion and the unexposed areas (where there were areas of black in the transparency) are washed away with a blast of water. Then each layer is printed onto printmaking rag paper one layer at a time. Pressing the ink through the silkscreen creates a very thin layer of ink on the paper making the images appear very flat or 2D.
Sérigraphie
Un utilisant Photoshop, une photo ou un dessin est fractionné en couches séparés. Les images qui résultent sont imprimées sur des feuilles d’acétate et exposés dans un écran sérigraphique revêtu d’une d'émulsion photographique. Avec de la lumière UV les images sont brûlés dans l'émulsion et les zones non exposés ( où il y avait des zones noir sur la feuille d’acétate ) sont lavées avec un jet d'eau. Ensuite, chaque couche est imprimée, une couche à la fois, sur papier de chiffon. En appuyant l'encre à travers l’écran sérigraphique, une très fine couche d'encre est crée sur le papier faisant apparaître les images très plat ou 2D.
